If you’ve been anywhere near a club or festival recently, the name Denzal Park will ring more than a few bells. In only two short years, Denzal Park, comprised of Australian house music stalwart Kam Denny and newcomer Paul Zala, has become one of the leading lights of the Australian club scene. The boys’ arrival was announced in emphatic fashion with a bootleg remix of Ce Ce Peniston’s hit Finally. Originally constructed simply for use in Denzal Park’s DJ sets, the remix spread like wildfire. Swiftly becoming a club favourite, Finally climbed to the top of various club charts worldwide, and reached the coveted 1 spot on Beatport.

But past laurels such as these are not for resting upon, and Denzal Park continually strive to create, produce, and remix quality club music. Signed to Australia’s leading dance music label Neon Records, the duo have achieved enviable success on their home turf and abroad. The recent success of Filter Freak and Ascension are but a taste of what’s to come from this talented duo.

Kam Denny, the man behind such highly successful outfits as Vandalism, 16th Element and Neurotic Jock (not to mention work under the name his mother gave him), has built a well-earned reputation as one of Australia’s hardest working and most respected DJs/producers. His music speaks for itself - six Number 1s on the Australian Club Chart and seven appearances on the Ministry Of Sound Annual, not to mention countless appearances on dance charts and in media all over the world.

Like so many creative partnerships before them, the Australian duo met when Zala approached Denny with a fistful of demos. With Denny impressed by Zala’s musical talent, the pair quickly fell into a creative groove that played to each other’s strengths, with Zala’s talent for melodies complemented by Denny’s skills with production, arrangements and beats. Industry heavyweights and clubbers alike lauded originals Sunday School, Madagascar and Angel, highlighting Denzal Park’s versatile musical talent. The pair’s diverse musical interests and mutual admiration of electronic artists fused to create Denzal Park’s signature sound: aesthetic, strong house with generous doses of melody and groove.

Denzal Park have quickly become a prolific musical machine, belting out remixes for the likes of Dirty South, Full Intention, TV Rock, Inaya Day, Supafly Inc., and numerous others.

More recently, the boys have again found themselves at the top end of the ARIA Club Chart, with their latest release Filter Freak hogging the 1 position for 8 consecutive weeks. Not bad for a track that had been lying unfinished for almost a decade – only when Denny was sorting through old equipment did he rediscover it and decide to have a crack at knocking it into shape. Luckily, the timing was spot on, with the funky, bass-driven Filter Freak quickly embraced by clubbers worldwide and receiving heavy rotation on Australian radio. Their next single, Ascension, a no-holds barred bass driven romper with epic house melodies and soaring synth, also hit the top spot of the ARIA Club Chart. Not content with two chart-topping singles in one year, Denzal Park have also co-written and produced Zoe Badwi’s new single, Freefallin’, which has already landed a host of international deals.

The chemistry that assures Denzal Park’s studio success has translated effortlessly to the stage. Uplifting sets featuring tag-team mixing and seamless integration of accapellas and FX showcase Denny’s 16 years of deck experience and Zala’s innate ability for song selection. The simple formula of playing tracks they dig and refusing to take themselves too seriously ensures full dancefloors of satisfied punters at festivals and clubs alike.

Whether it’s writing, producing, remixing or gigging, Denzal Park is the complete package. With Denny and Zala in the best form of their lives, expect to be hearing a lot more from Denzal Park.
