Chicago IL. A city famed for giving the world many things, its here the Great Lakes can be experienced, the infamous Al Capone ran riot but most importantly Chicago gave us house music. In the windy city lies a studio where on a calm day the subtle pounding of twisted beats can be heard. It’s here where one of Chicago’s latest offerings, can be found, one of the nu-breed currently taking the globe by storm, a name that is buzzing in London, USA, Australia, Europe, Mexico & Japan – That name is Max Linen. Max Linen kicked off their 2004 assault in style, featuring at Pete Tong’s ‘Radio 1 Miami World Exclusive’ with their brand new production ‘Flashback’, the track tore the roof off at the event. Pete also played it on his ‘Essential Mix’ from the Ultra Beach festival with 40,000 people in attendance and the who’s who of Dj’s on the line up…
‘Flashback’ by far received the biggest reaction of the evening and has caused a media & industry frenzy since it’s first airing. To date every Max Linen production has been a No.1 record, they entered the record books when they became the first act to have two consecutive No.1’s on the white isle…..‘The Soulshaker’ hit the No.1 spot on Pete Tong’s Radio 1 ‘Ibiza Buzz Chart’ (2001). 2002 saw their ‘Paradiso Del Mundo’ track hit the No.1 spot in DJ’s ‘Ibiza’ Magazine’s hype chart (Sept.’02). Their remix of the almost biblical Joe Smooth’s ‘Promised Land’ (2001) hit the No.1 spot in the UK club charts with Joe Smooth Quoting: “15 producers have remixed Promised land over the years & the Max Linen mix is my favourite of them all – A labour of love for the original” Max Linen started his production career as two very different entity’s namely Leiam Sullivan & Rob Roar. Under the pseudonym “Mr. Pink”, Leiam has built a catalogue of chart toppers. He has delivered such classics as “Disco Mirror” by Plastika, “The Beach” by Coco & Stonebridge, and “Surrender” by Prospect Park. He has also enjoyed massive success teaming up with the Lisa Marie Experience to bring you “Trickster” Move on Up and with Dave Lee on “The Program” Love & Affection which hit top 20 in the national charts. Since moving his studio to Chicago, Leiam still keeps his UK roots alive, managed by Serious he can be found DJing every few months back in the UK & around Europe. Rob Roar carved out his career DJ’ing at clubs such as Ministry, Back 2 Basics, Miss Moneypennys, Chuff Chuff & Manumission - as time took it’s course it was a natural progression into the studio for Rob who has worked with many big name artists & producers including Boy George who was a massive fan of Rob’s very first production, this resulted in the pair working together with a double platinum disc delivered at the end of the project. Rob Roar has manipulated the decks at some of the worlds finest clubs, a small selection would include Rulin @ MOS, Progress, Sugar Shack, Tall Trees, Love 2 Be, Club UK, Clockwork Orange and Ibiza...the long list goes on. With 4 CD compilations compiled & mixed under his belt, his Counter Culture II bestowed a Best Album award in Record Mirror/Music Week and lead to prestigious Head of A&R positions at Global Cuts/R&S Records – Belgium and Slip ‘N Slide/Kickin (De’ Lacy ‘Hideaway’) with Rob playing a big part in helping the labels achieve the legendary status they hold today. To date every Max Linen release has been signed exclusively and then been released by the cream of the worlds dance labels...resulting in each production stamping it’s anthemic mark on the global music scene.
